The Grateful Dead Is Still Truckin’ {Ultimate Playlist}
Posted in Uncategorized on June 30, 2015

For me, there is nothing like driving around on a beautiful day, the wind through the windows, the blue sky above, my bare leg propped up against the door as ‘Box of Rain’ blasts from the car and my lips.
It’s pure magic.
I love the guitar solos, and the way that the music doesn’t only sound good, it literally makes my body and heart feel good, too.
It lifts me, and makes me smile at the joy of just living.
I love to spread love and good vibes, and this playlist embodies all of that. It’s the perfect track to accompany a backyard BBQ, a drive up into the mountains or a quiet day spent contemplating life.
So, kick back, turn it on—and turn it up.

Too stoned to notice the faults, ha,ha
It’s an odd experience feeling disappointment around something so very special and important in my life. Some have shared my experience and interpretation, others have their own and it varies wildly. No experience is wrong.
I’ve been accused by some in the past few days of judging too harshly and being overly vocal about it. Maybe that’s true, but it seems more to me like there’s this unspoken notion that it’s clear heresy to express disappointment surrounding this occasion, to criticize any element of it. In essence, to have my own experience and voice it. It feels like going to see the Grateful Dead in 1994 and 1995 and commenting on Garcia’s playing and health. To me, something was clearly going on. It seemed like he was using again, in very ill health and the music suffered greatly. When I remarked on it at the time, there were those that suggested I was just…

Grateful Dud

For a month and 10 days I have been at the mercy of the GDTSTOO (The Grateful Dead Ticketing Service). How those of us used to get tickets back in the day. It was to be nostalgic.
Instead it has made me a neurotic mess:
- Spending an entire weekend lovingly decorating an envelope to mail the SASE.
- Following the detailed and quite specific instructions.
- Having a minor panic attack when I see other people talking about pricing of tickets that I didn’t see.
(and worrying that I did something wrong so my request would be rejected out right) - Dreading going to the mailbox for a rejection letter and the return of my money orders.
- Checking twitter once or twice a day for information.
- Not believing most of the crap I was reading on twitter because the information was coming from “fans” who were reporting what they did or didn’t get…

Oh what’s happening in the Deadhead world?

The 50th anniversary concert in Chicago has been very confusing. Why are so many real Deadheads are being kept out of the concert? Is it a matter of money or just bad planning on GD management? All good questions that can’t be answered publicly or is there a conspiracy happening? Give your responses to this question?

Thanks for sharing the memories.
This week I want to share some of the TV I watched as a kid. Every morning before I went to Maplewood Elementary School, I would watch Bozo the Clown. For some reason this video reminds me of my black rubber boots and yellow rain coat.

Hippie life?
Hey y’all! Remember that big announcement I said was on the way? Well… here it is: I’ve teamed up with Sisters of the Black Moon – from now on my best vintage finds will be sold through their EBay shop + I’ll be doing some ‘behind the scenes’ web related stuff for them. This opens a whole new chapter for them as well as I; one we’re all pretty psyched about : ).
Seeing my finds brought to life by them is a dream come true. I just love how the products are statement worthy, yet styled in a way that never looks ‘costume-y’ or ‘dated’. Instead, their presentation is a perfect hybrid of vintage, street, and high fashion – resulting in looks that are do-able and appropriate for every day. You can’t help but get inspired!
On top of that, these ladies are the real deal. Such genuinely cool…
